Bin Jin, PhD
Data Science Manager
Bin leads Data Science at Forestay. He helps the investment team leverage data science across all processes from sourcing to deal execution and portfolio monitoring. Prior to Forestay, Bin worked as a Data Scientist at Pictet, where he focused on bringing ML/NLP techniques to investment decisions and at Facebook in the Applied ML group.
Bin holds a PhD in Computer Science from EPFL, where he conducted 5 years of research in the field of computer vision and machine learning. He also holds a BSc. in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Bin was born in Maanshan, a small city in China. He speaks Mandarin, English and is currently learning French. He is a gamer, a foodie and a keen explorer of new places and cultures.
As a Data Scientist, Bin is passionate about the latest breakthroughs in AI and ML — such as generative AI and autonomous agents — and is eager to see them translated into real-world products. He also closely follows the evolution of enterprise data layers to support these emerging AI trends.
